(Please Read and Vote) A Music Post

Hello there you prolonged awkward eye contact. This post is going to basically just be me rambling about my piano stuff, so if you aren’t interested in that stuff, don’t bother continuing.

As I am writing this, I have just sent Jamie a text about possibly separating E-Quality into two separate albums, a piano album and a regular one. Jamie agrees, so we might do that, but before we decide, you get to decide!

Before you vote though, here are some pros and cons.

Pros:

1. People who only want to hear either one or the other get to choose.

2. It’s a little bit easier to structure when they are separated.

3. We can spread them out over more time, and spend more time perfecting them before releasing them. Plus you will get more songs than a grouped album.

Cons:

1. We lose the power of the almighty musical interlude on the vocal album.

2. It will take a lot more time to finish the projects than if they were grouped together.

3. We could possibly lose our listeners that don’t exist yet if they aren’t a fan of the first to be released. They would probably avoid the second album if they didn’t like the first one.

That’s all of the pros and cons I can think of right now.

I Don’t Have Much Time

Hello there you growth and fixed mindsets. Tonight I don’t have a lot of time to write a post so you get this little explanation why, which will probably end up being long enough to count as a real post.

1. Today my bus broke down. Again. Two days in a row! This caused me to be late home, and when I finally got home, I had about 15 minutes to eat dinner, and get ready for 2.
2. I went to a Solar Eclipse talk at one of the libraries in my area. I was there for an hour and a half, and while I did gain some useful information about the upcoming eclipse, it felt like I left school, got on the bus, went home briefly, and then went back to school for a while. However, we did get some glasses that are approved to view the eclipse with! August 21st!
3. By the time we eventually got home, it was 8:30. This leaves an hour for my siblings and I to use the laptop before we have to go to bed at 9:30. Of course I will only end up getting these 10 minutes to write this post, so I don’t have a lot of time to write quality content!

This concludes my post on not being able to post. I hope you enjoyed it.

School Saga #1

Hello there you Sheldon Coopers. Today was the first day of school for everyone writing on this blog currently. I can’t speak for them, but I can say that my overall feel from today was that this year is going to be more chaotic than ever. To start things off, my homeroom is Math, with a teacher I have heard is bad, but doesn’t seem as bad as she was made out to be originally. There are a ton of new students in class with us, and that was one of the most interesting things about today.

BUT.

SOMETHING WAS AMISS AS SOON AS I STARTED PAYING ATTENTION TO MY SCHEDULE.

My band teacher from last year’s name wasn’t listed. Instead of Deaver, it said RAY! In case you were wondering, Ms. Deaver was the best band teacher of all time, and finding out that she isn’t going to be here this year was not a fun way to start the day. On top of that I was sitting by an annoying person almost the whole day, who kept being a jerk. On the bright side however, my friend Jett is joining us this year in our school. This is significant because last year he was home schooled.

Just like last year, I will take the city bus home everyday this year. Today I got on my normal bus and everything was going as it usually does. But then! The bus broke down while I was about halfway to my destination, and I had to leave it and catch the next bus at a nearby bus stop.

That’s pretty much everything I have to say for today, so thanks for reading these perfect three hundred words if you have 😀

Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley – A Review

(Due to either my idiocy or a mistake on WordPress’s end caused the entire review portion of my review posted earlier today to be deleted, so I have to rewrite the whole thing. Imagine how excited I am.)

Hello there you Death Note endings. Today, as you just read I will be writing this book review. Again.

I’m just going to go right into the review here, because I was going to be working on something else instead of putting time into this again.

I think this book is my favorite of the ones that I have reviewed recently so far. Without revealing too much of the plot, I can tell you this book is about a small town becoming popular, a brother gone missing, and a quest. I found the story to be compelling, the characters relatable and lifelike, and the bits of comedy mixed in there actually funny. I only have two problems with the book, the fact that it didn’t have an epilogue, when it was obviously the type of ending that needed an epilogue, and that the ending felt a little rushed. Addressing the first issue, if you read the book, you would understand that with the conclusion it presented, it needed an epilogue to wrap itself up. On the second, i’d say that almost the entire second half of the book is build-up to the end, with all the loose strings coming towards each other, but the ending was kind of jammed into the last few pages.

Overall, i’ll rate it 9/10.

A hastily assembled but nonetheless amazing LAY#19

Hello everyone! I am currently basking in the LED lights that is the air conditioned Duke TIP summer camp. I am rounding out my second week here (2 of 3) and I  am pleased to tell you that so much awesome stuff has happened. Not only will there be a several part TIP series, but I am learning about so much about literature, detectives, and film making that I will be able to make the comprehensive reviews series a regular feature from the James Blonde Repertoire. Also movies books, games, and more will be more central features of the Nerd and His Brother (more on that later)

In other news I am digging our sites theme change and I am working more on graphics to take NABUR and my posts to the 

So unfortunately until July 29th post will be few and far between. But I will be working on pumping out more and more content as the school year starts.

All in all, an eight day hiatus isn’t as long a break as some things ***coughcoughgoodmythicalmorningcoughcoughdoctorwhocough***.

The Most Thrilling, Fashionably Late LAY – #16

Hey, remember when I said Life and You Friday?

Well that was a typo, a computer error, a ‘glitch’ as the kids call it.

Because today is clearly TUESDAY, not FRIDAY, so I apologize on my computers behalf.

Whatever the case, it’s LAY, LAY, LAY todAY so everyone yell HurrAY and go Cray-crAY rent Around the world in 80 DAYs on BlurAY.

Ok I’m done now.

Last LAY I asked the question “What ridiculous fears or beliefs do you have?”

bittersweetlyirrevocable says her fear of thunderstorms is really stupid but still lives on in her heart.

My thoughts:

Thunder storms (or thunder stroms as I have mis-typed it over and over again while writing this) are something that I never have any worry or fear about until it is happening.

When I hear there will be thunderstorms, I charge my phone, my computer, my portable battery, and wrap up tight to sleep. Low and behold 15 minutes later I’m cowering in the hallway willing the loud noises to stop.

So I understand you there, but try to listen to good music/ podcasts (like The Nerd and His Brother Podcast nerdandbrother.com new podcasts out now!) and drown out the storms that have an extremely minuscule percentage of hurting you.

Oh, and don’t shower in a thunderstorm.

If you follow all of these rules, then you should be perfectly fine!

A weird fear I had was roller coasters, but I think I’ve shaken that fear for at least the Disney tier of coasters.

EXAMPLE: At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, their biggest coaster is Expedition Everest.

Basically you ride up a huge mountain,

encounter a Yeti,

and chaos ensues.

I was very scared of this ride, but we got on and as I went up the mountain, I started to be scared less, and when the thrills started coming, it was actually a pretty fun ride!

If you ever go to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, make sure to try this ride and Pandora: World of Avatar on the other side of the park. Pandora just opened and it is so immersive. The lines for the rides are actually very long though, so I would recommend a) dedicating some time and b) running straight for Flight of Passage.

The point of this is, try it!

Except showering in thunderstorms, PLEASE don’t try that.
